March 10, 2022

I am going to start sharing what we are doing on our farm. This has been a busy year for us so far. The bees are starting to increase their brood and spring is in the air. My husband officially retired AGAIN in May of 2021 so we are both working full time on the farm. We will be working with bees, Hereford pigs, and HONEYBGOODNESS products.

Let’s recap what happened in 2021 to bring you up to date on the Red Rock Ranch. I spent the year learning different techniques for lye soap. I absolutely love making lye soap and will be adding more lye soap to the website along with other new products.

Our bees kept us busy. We extracted 32 gallons of honey in July. Unfortunately, we did not get a fall crop of honey like normal. We have no clue what happened with the bees. There was plenty of rain, pollen, and nectar. We are hoping that 2022 will be a bumper crop for honey.

We started a new venture in raising Hereford pigs. A friend of ours, Kevin and Crystal Piper, gave us 3 Hereford gilts (unbred females) that were 10 weeks old. We named them Wanda, Harley Quinn, and Mystique. We are raising them on pasture and rotating the pigs every 10 to 14 days. We use single strand electric to define their paddock. They are allowed to be pigs. They dig in the dirt, roll in the mud, and eat all kinds of nuts and berries, plants and shrubs. Surprisingly, they really like to eat poison ivy. In November we artificially inseminated 2 of our 3 (Wanda and Harley Quinn) pigs that had their babies this month. Harley Quinn had 9 and Wanda had 10 babies. The babies are doing well and growing fast.

Wow What a Monday

We started off our day visiting our friend, Paul Avallone, retired Green Beret, former war correspondent, and accomplished author; to deliver his honey order.  We had some hot tea and a great visit.  Check out his work at

After that we went to Alicia’s K9 Kuts and Feline Fridays off of Highway 149 to set up our product display in her shop.  Alicia offers grooming for dogs and cats, mobile pet spa,  and boarding.  Alicia and her staff will love your pets like one of their own.  They are well trained, professional, and Alicia has over 20 years of experience in this industry.   Alicia is the only person that we trust to take care of our boxer, Sydney, when we go out of town. Check out her face book page at Alicias’s K9 Kuts & Feline Fridays INC.

Coming up Monday, December 23, 2019, Alicia and I will be doing a live demonstration with one of our Puppy Power soap products on our boxer, Sydney.  Alicia will also be doing a live Q&A with me on what sets our business apart from the competition.  Visit us at for a full list and description of our products.  You will find many quality gift ideas including custom gift baskets for that special someone on your list.

Vendor Expo in Erin

Considering it was raining today we still had quite a few customers come out and get some early Christmas shopping done.  It was the first time with our Puppy Power line and the sensitive soap was a huge success.  We also had a couple people try the Puppy Power herbal salve that is great for our Four Legged Friends noses, pads on their paws, dry skin, and wounds.  We met some new honey customers and had a great time at Shamrock and Shenanigans at 20 Court Square, Erin, TN.  We will be back there Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 8 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. so come on out and see us.  25 days left until Christmas.

Puppy Products

We are starting our line of soaps and herbal salves for our furry little friends.  I have some sensitive skin soap with oatmeal that will be safe on your puppy’s skin.  The sensitive skin soap with oatmeal is available now and it is the square bars in the picture.  Will add it to the products as soon as I get price and labels completed.  Also made some cold process soaps that will make your dogs nice and clean and smell great.  These will not be ready for 3 to 4 weeks because they need to cure.  Our furry little friends like to get presents as well.

Elderberry Syrup

Yesterday I made Elderberry syrup from elderberries grown on our farm and made with honey from our apiary.  We currently have 13 bee hives on our apiary and 5 at our secondary location.  I steamed the elderberries to get the juice and canned 7 quarts of juice.  Check out our Facebook page (Honey-B-Goodness).
